Privacy Policy — replies-IG

replies-IG ("the App") is a private, single-operator tool that automatically posts reply comments on the Instagram professional account(s) that the operator owns and manages (the "Managed Account", e.g. @malayalamastro). When a comment on the operator's own posts matches a predefined keyword, the App posts a short predefined reply (for example a greeting or blessing). The App is operated solely by the account owner for their own account and is not offered as a service to other people.

What information the App accesses

Using the Instagram API (with Instagram Login), the App accesses only what it needs to reply to comments on the operator's own media:

• Comments on the Managed Account's own media — comment text, the commenter's Instagram username and Instagram-scoped user ID, comment ID, parent media ID, and timestamp. This is used to detect keyword matches and to check whether the comment has already been answered.
• Media metadata of the Managed Account — media IDs, captions, and permalinks — to know which posts to monitor.
• An access token for the Managed Account, obtained when the operator authorizes the App, used to call the Instagram API on the operator's behalf.

The App does not access direct messages, and does not read data from accounts other than the operator's own Managed Account.

How the App uses information

• To detect whether a comment on the operator's own post matches a configured keyword.
• To post a predefined public reply to matching comments.
• To record which comments have already been handled, so the same comment is not answered twice.

Information is used for these operational purposes only. It is not sold, rented, used for advertising or profiling, or shared with any third party.

Storage and security

• The App runs on the operator's own private server. Data is not shared with external services.
• The access token is stored encrypted at rest.
• Only minimal records are kept — comment IDs and processing status — to prevent duplicate replies.

Data retention and deletion

Operational records (such as processed-comment IDs) are retained only as long as needed to run the App and can be deleted on request. To request deletion of any data the App holds that relates to you, see our Data Deletion instructions or email malayalamastro7@gmail.com. The operator can also revoke the App's access at any time from Instagram (Settings → Apps and websites), after which the App can no longer access account data.

Third parties

The App interacts with Meta's Instagram Platform APIs to read comments and post replies. Your use of Instagram is governed by Instagram's own Privacy Policy. The App itself introduces no other third parties.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
